How It Works

A well-fitting insulated hot tub cover is the single most important accessory for your spa. It prevents 60-70% of heat loss (mostly from evaporation), keeps debris out, and is required for child safety in many jurisdictions. When measuring for a replacement cover, measure the outside lip of the spa at its widest points and note the corner radius. Most covers use a tapered foam core that is thicker in the center for rainwater drainage. Replace your cover when it becomes waterlogged and heavy — a saturated cover actually draws heat out of the water instead of retaining it. A cover lifter makes removal easy and extends cover life by reducing stress on the vinyl.
