How It Works

Pool chemistry revolves around three key numbers: free chlorine (1-3 ppm kills bacteria and algae), pH (7.2-7.6 keeps water comfortable and chlorine effective), and total alkalinity (80-120 ppm acts as a pH buffer). Test your water at least twice a week during swim season. Always add chemicals with the pump running and wait at least 30 minutes between different chemicals. Never mix chemicals together before adding them to the pool. Add chemicals to water, never water to chemicals.
